Dale Frank Stephens

Dale was born in Catawba County on October 4, 1931, the son of the late Patrick and Iva Yoder Stephens of Hickory.

After graduating from Mountain View School, Dale served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After military service, Dale drove for various trucking companies in the area for over 40 years. However, his great passion was church music, and he was faithfully involved with his home church of Royal Chapel Church of God.

Dale was a devoted husband, selfless father and grandfather, and a prayer warrior for all those in need. He leaves a lasting legacy for all of those who knew him. He is survived by his sons, Rick Stephens and wife Tammy of Boone, Scott Stephens of Boone, three grandchildren: Brett Stephens of Boone, Eric Stephens of Boone, Marc Stephens and wife Brittany of Denver, CO, and a great grandson, Cameron Stephens of Boone.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Iva; his beloved wife Louise, and brothers, Howard, Wade and Hosea.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Royal Chapel Church of God. Rev. Mike Campbell and Rev. Carlton Davidson will officiate the service.
