Cynthia Campbell Edmonds (Cindy) of Hudson, NC passed away Monday November 11, 2024. She was born December 26, 1958. Cindy was the daughter of the late Forest Lee Campbell of Lenior, NC and the late Nancy Maye Campbell of Hickory, NC. She was also preceded in death on 10-2-1976 by her mother Rita Weathers Campbell.
Cindy married the love of her life right out of high school on November 20, 1976, her late husband Geter Alan Edmonds of Hudson, NC.
Cindy is what many could refer to as an “80’s lady”. If you know the song, then you understand the meaning. She was very independent and hard working. It was best not to tell her that she could not do something, because she would much rather show you better than tell you that she could. She acquired many of those traits from her mother, Rita. Cindy spent the earlier years of her life working in transportation and logistics. Her twenty-year career in this area was spread across well know companies like Caldwell Freight lines, W & L Motor Lines, and Zenith. She spent the last twenty-two more years of her career working for Shurtape.
Cindy was a member of the Hudson Optimist for 13 years, and several of those years were spent serving as Secretary on the Board. She loved being a help mate to Geter while volunteering for a good cause. She strived to continue that task for him after he had passed. She too wanted to see the benefit of community for the children.
Cindy after being a wife, was a mother. She is survived by four daughters and a son: Mrs. Krystal Vetetoe Craig and husband Larry Craig of Hickory, NC; Mrs. Rita Edmonds Shade and husband Robert S. Shade II of Maiden, NC; Mrs. Angela Edmonds Lingerfelt and husband Paul Shane Lingerfelt of Shadydawn, TN; Mr. Forest Alan Edmonds and wife Jessie Edmonds of Troutman, NC and Ms. Elizabeth Ann Edmonds of the home.
Cindy is also survived by ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Chauncey Wardrick, Jordan Wardrick, Harley Lingerfelt, Melanie Lingerfelt, Marissa Shade, Spencer Shade, Geter D. Edmonds, Gabryele Edmonds, Girnee Edmonds, Ginger Edmonds, Jaziah Pekera-Wardrick and Gabriel Wardrick.
Cindy was preceded in death by one sister Regina Campbell Teague of Newton, NC. She is survived by her sister Mrs. Tracy Campbell Montgomery and husband Monty Montgomery of Newton, NC; stepmother Ms. Lesley Rainey Campbell of Hudson; two step-brothers Mr. Jim Rainey and wife Tonia Rainey of Lenior, NC; Mr. Joe Rainey and wife Conla Rainey of Lenior, NC; father and mother-in-law Mr. Larry Teague and wife Georgia Edmonds Teague of Maiden, NC; two sister-in laws Ms. Sherry Edmonds Butler and the late Mike Butler; Mrs. Cindy Edmonds Schronce and her husband Randy Schronce of Maiden, NC.
She had several beloved nieces and nephews: Garry Butler, William Butler, Alexander Teague, Tiffany Teague, Tyrie Montgomery, Ashley Schronce Snell, Lindsey Schronce, Brittany Rainey, Rebecca Rainey, Leah Rainey, and several other loved great nieces and nephews.
Momma, Maw-Maw, Nan-na, sister, and friend she was so much so to so many people. The most important thing is that she was always equal, fair, and consistent. You always knew no one else was going to get any better than what every other child, grand-child, or friend got. She is now whole again at home with God the father, her father, family, and most importantly her husband, Geter.
