Carolyn Elaine Costner

Carolyn Elaine Costner, age 79, of Hickory, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. She was born in Catawba County on November 3, 1945 to the late Mack Lindsay Isenhour and Edna Shook Isenhour.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Isenhour.

Carolyn grew up in Marathon, FL, where she graduated high school. She worked for many years as a cosmetologist and was employed with Catawba County Social Services assisting the community until she retired. Carolyn was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and lovingly called “Gran” or “Granny”. Carolyn enjoyed gardening and attending Senior Morning Out at First United Methodist Church in Hickory, which she affectionately referred to as the “Old Fart Daycare”.

Those left to cherish Carolyn’s memory are son, Sam Costner (Heather) of Delavan, WI; daughter Delane Mitchell (Mark) of Wilmington, NC; step sons, Doug Boliek, Eric Boliek, Allen Boliek(Jennifer); sister, Linda Dexter (James); sister-in-law, Cheyenne Isenhour; grandchildren, Brittany Price, MacLindsay Mitchell (Hunter), Macory Mitchell, Macy Mitchell, Maverick Costner, Uriah Costner; step grandchildren, Nickcole Maynard-Errami, Apryl Jordan Boliek Hollar, Adam Boliek(Shelena),Erica Boliek, Jessica Boliek Schaffer (Alan), Theodore Boliek(Jessica), Elijah Boliek(Madison). Carolyn was also blessed with 16 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 22, 2024, from 4pm to 6pm at Drum Funeral Home, 509 1st Ave South, Conover, NC 28613.

The family has suggested that in lieu of flowers, honor Carolyn Isenhour Costner’s memory by making contributions to: Catawba County Social Services, Meals on Wheels. P.O. Box 207, Newton, NC 28658.

The Costner family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Hickory, NC.
