Carl Malcolm Smart

Hildebran – Carl Malcolm Smart 83 of Hildebran went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at his home surrounded by family.

Born on August 28, 1938 in Cleveland County, NC, Carl was the son of the late William and Carrie Herman Smart. Carl was a dirt track racer all over the southeast and he enjoyed golfing and fishing. He loved his family most of all and he will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Johnny Lee Smart and Paul L. Smart and a sister, Frances M. Willis.

Carl is survived by his wife of 36 years, Wanda Smart; 3 sons, Marty Revis and wife Karen, Steve Smart and Kim Sigmon, Carl Smart, Jr. and fiancé, Suzanna Maxwell; 2 grandchildren, Amber Turk and Sierra Smart; 2 great grandchildren, Levi Turk and Ethan Turk.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Rocky Reese officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Foundation in Carl’s name.
