Betty Lou Swink

GRANITE FALLS —Betty Lou Swink, 72, passed away February 6, 2016 at her residence. Betty was born March 12, 1943 in Cleveland County to the late Pink Ivey and Lola Canipe Swink. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sister Ruby Swink Helms; her infant brother Tommy Gene Swink and her brothers Jimmie Swink and Brady Canipe. She was a member of Dudley Shoals Baptist Church and Tabernacle Baptist Church. She is survived by her sisters Barbara Botts and husband Tim, Brenda Henson, Helen Swink, Nancy “Faye” Carter, Annie Sue Price and husband Jim, Mary Parish and husband Bob and Linda Sain and husband Glen; her brothers Ray Canipe and wife Lucille, John Swink and wife Margaret, Pink “Buck” Swink Jr. and wife Carolyn, and Paul Swink; sister-in-law Janie Griffin; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Hickory Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday, February, 11, 2016 at 1:00pm at Carpenter Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Gordon West and Reverend Don Ingle officiating.
