On Sunday May 23rd, 2021 God called his daughter Ms. Betty Swanson Spencer home to glory.
She was born in Burke County, NC on December 28, 1953 to the late Bud and Inez Swanson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister’s, Brenda Potter and Rebecca Chandler.
Betty was a member of Mission For Jesus Church. Loved to go yard saling in her spare time and worked for Drexel Heritage for over 30 years.
She will be cherished in memory by her longtime companion of 31 years, Harold Phillips; her only son, William (Bill) Spencer Jr.; granddaughter, Brittany Spencer; brother, Michael Swanson; sisters, Joyce Frizell (John) and Donna Swanson.
Services will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 2 PM at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Dwayne Rector officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel United Methodist Church in Longview.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 PM to 2 PM at the funeral home.
