She was born September 10, 1933 to the late Rev. Eugene Walls and Julia Katherine Williams Walls in Catawba County. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She enjoyed reading books and had a soft heart for animals.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Gregory; one brother; and one sister.
Survivors include her daughters, Renee Garner of Burlington, Shirley Shotwell of Hickory, Melissa Lawson of Hickory; grandchildren, Eric Garner and wife Chris, T.J. Shotwell, Jason Shotwell and wife Michelle, Crystal Shotwell, Lee Mize; fourteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; a niece and nephew; and her fur baby, Barney.
A gathering will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the family home. A private graveside will be held at a later date.
