Bernice Florence Ann Buchin Liverett, 105 went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 14th, 2024 at the NC State Veterans Home in Black Mountain, NC surrounded by her family.
Born on January 12th, 1919 in Monroe County, NY, Bernice was the daughter of the late Henry Carl and Mary Theresa Hendricks Buchin. Bernice met her future husband, Buford in New York City. They married September 18th, 1948 in Lyndonville, NY. They moved to North Carolina and had 2 daughters. She was a loving mother to them and all her grandchildren. She was Army veteran of WWII where she worked as a dietician and a medical driver. She was loved by her family and will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Buford Liverett; 3 brothers, Edward Buchin, Robert Buchin, and Richard Buchin and 2 sisters, Martha Buchin and Pauline Buchin.
Those left to cherish her memory include, 2 daughters, Pamela Rae Liverett Stanek and husband, Harold, Aliesa Liverett Bowman and husband, Doug; 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
A Graveside Service will be held at Catawba Memorial Park in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024 at 3:00 pm with Vicar Rebecca Foster officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm at Catawba Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to NC State Veteran’s Home - Black Mountain at 62 Lake Eden Rd, Black Mountain, NC 28711for the Bernice Fund for Ladies Tea Party and Christmas Party Fund in Bernice’s name.
