CONNELLY SPRINGS – Alma Jean Carswell, 86 of Connelly Springs crossed over to Glory on December 2, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
Alma was born on December 5, 1936 in Cherokee County, SC to the late William C. and Jossie Lovelace Morris. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Alma loved to sing and clog and was known for her chicken and dumplings.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Taylor Carswell Jr.; brothers, John Morris, Jimmy Morris and multiple in-laws who she was very close to.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Pamela Buchanan and husband Donald, Judy Roland and husband Gary, Michael Carswell; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Morris; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 1 PM at Remnant Rising Church (2600 Edwards St., Connelly Springs, NC 28612) with Pastor Johnny Griffin officiating. Entombment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 12 PM – 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Medi Home Hospice.
