Alice Punch Wilson

Alice Punch Wilson, age 89 went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 29, 2016. Alice was born in Catawba County on February 25, 1927, and was a graduate of Startown High School. She was a member of Fairgrove United Methodist Church, and was currently attending Gateway Baptist Church. Alice is survived by her children, Linda Mandeville and husband Ken of Jacksonville, Florida and David Wilson and wife Joyce of Hickory; 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Hugh Wilson; siblings, Lena, Carroll, Frank, Ray, Carrie, Guy, Jessie, Make and Johnny. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 2 at 2 pm at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Jerome Walker officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1pm to 2pm at the funeral home. Memorial contribution may be made in Alice’s name to Conover Nursing and Rehabilitation, 920 4th St. SW, Conover NC 28613 or Gateway Baptist Church, 3105 Sandy Ford Rd, Newton NC 28658.The family would like to express their appreciation to the entire staff of Conover Nursing for their loving care and support with Alice.
