Alice Raines Newton

HICKORY— Alice Raines Newton, 84, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Abernathy Laurels. She was born in McDowell County on September 24, 1932 to the late Wid and Sara Davis Raines. In addition to parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Fredrick Newton. She is survived by her daughters Debbie King and husband Bill of Hudson and Sherry Austin and husband Anthony of Dudley Shoals; grandson Cody Parham of Conover; granddaughters Sydney Austin and Shannon Martino and husband Tony of Conover; great grandchildren Taylor Martino of Charlotte and Tristan Martino of Conover, and Jaxon Parham of Conover; great great granddaughter, Kylie Grace Martino of Charlotte; grandchildren Keley and Tangi; 3 brothers and 1 sister. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm at Hickory Funeral Home. The funeral will be Monday, December 12, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James McKinney officiating.Burial will follow at Brookford City Cemetery.
