Carlos was born in Manzanillo, Cuba on Augusta 11, 1936. He was the youngest boy in a family of 12 siblings.
Later, he studied in La Habana until, in his early twenties. He then served 9 years as a political prisoner and became one of the original Plantados. Shortly after his release, he met his wife, Marisela, in Güines and started a family. In 1979, he and his family came to the United States where their family continued to grow.
Carlos is survived by his wife, Marisela; three children, Carlos, Elgis, and Gisel; and four grandchildren, Emily, Kaitlyn, Jason, and Leah.
A visitation for Carlos will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 11:59 PM at Caballero Rivero Hialeah, 373 W 9 Street, Hialeah, FL 33010.
