Angela Alvarez Martel

Angela is survived by her son Jose Alvaro Martel and daughter Maria Lourdes Medina; her daughter-in-law Liza Martel and son-in-law Erik Medina. She is also survived by her brother Joaquin Alvarez. She will be fondly remembered as a loving grandmother by her 6 grandchildren: Christopher Martel (20), Miranda Martel (19), Matthew Medina (17), Marcelo Martel (15), Alexa Medina (15), and Carolina Martel (14).

Angela was predeceased by her parents Jose Bustamante Alvarez and Maria Alvarez Pascual and her siblings Engracia Alvarez, Irineo Alvarez, Gerardo Alvarez, Maximo Alvarez, Zenaida Mata, Jose Manuel Alvarez, Aldo Alvarez, Raul Alvarez, and Rafael Alvarez.

Angela was born in Ciego de Avila, Camaguey, Cuba. She immigrated to Miami, Florida in 1967 after living in Venezuela briefly during her family plight to leave post-Castro Cuba.

After her mother passed away in 1983, Angela became the Alvarez family matriarch. She loved her family deeply and was a devoted sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her selfless giving serves as a legacy for the next generation to carry on.
