Calvin Kramer, D.D.S., of Woodsburgh, New York, originally of Brooklyn, died peacefully at home on October 8, 2013. He was born on April 12, 1927, to Ida and Hyman Kramer. He was the cherished husband of Lenore Sondra Jacoby Kramer, also originally of Brooklyn, beloved father of Debbie and Paul, Leslie and Barry, and David and Cara, adored grandfather of Jessica, Rebecca and Rene, Jared and Danielle, Jeffrey, Matthew, Daniel, and John, adoring great-grandfather of Zoe Florence, long-time business partner and friend of Kenneth M. Kerman, D.D.S., and cherished godfather of Kenneth’s children, Michael Kerman and Stephanie Kerman (soon to be Stephanie Sobotka).
A plumber’s son, Calvin became a dentist and entered the United States Army during the Korean War, rising to the rank of Captain. After the army, he joined a dental practice in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.
From humble beginnings, Calvin would jump at any opportunity to help a friend or stranger in need. He will be remembered as a spirited, gregarious, and generous man.
