BERNARD LIPPERT (LIPPERT, BERNARD?), 86, passed away in the early hours of themorning on Saturday,June 30, 2012, with his beloved and adoring wife Carolyn by his side. He was a truly devoted and loving husband of fifty-nine years, a virtual deity to his two daughters and four grandchildren, a fabulous uncle and great uncle to many beautiful adults and children.
A loyal and beloved friend as well as a deeply trusted guide and advisor to his clients, Bernie, as he was known by most, was a true gentleman, a “class act”. He will always be remembered for his warm and genuine smile, his affable and delightful nature, his abilities as a natural athlete and his lifelong love for the Yankees and the opera.
A highly respected professional as a CPA for over sixty years, Bernie’s highly developed sense of ethics, remarkable intellect and warmth rewarded him with great success and satisfaction. He was a brave young decorated soldier who liberated a concentration camp during World War II , an avid reader, creative yet logical free thinker, an early advocate for civil rights and a generous philanthropist.
Bernie is survived by his soulmate Carolyn, to whom he became engaged only after knowing her for three days, and his children, Sari Winters and Hildy Teplitz and his son-in-law, Dr. Donald Teplitz, who literally kept him alive during these past difficult years; his grandchildren Frank Winters, Ben Winters, Corey Teplitz and Julie Teplitz; his sisters-in-law Sharron Weiner and Phyllis Putter, his brothers-in-law Paul Weiner and Dr. Bernard Putter, who were like brothers and sisters to him.
He will be terribly missed by all who knew him.
