Steven Jay Thursby

March 13, 1973 – March 25, 2023

Memorial services will be held on April 8, 2023 at 2:00pm at Courtyard Marriott 9619 Mariposa Rd. Hesperia, CA 92345. Reception (including lunch and hosted bar) after memorial.

Steven was born in Orlando, FL on March 13, 1973 and grew up in Ocoee, FL until the age of 10 when he moved to Riverside County, CA where he graduated from Hemet High School in 1991. He lived in Tennessee for a time and then finally settled in Helendale, CA.

Steven went to join his maternal grandparents Julius Benjamin and Winnifred Holland Griffin, Fraternal grandparents Robert F. and Betty R. Thursby, Uncle Ben Holland Griffin, Aunt Mary Lynn Jocoy, and cousins James and Jeff Jocoy.

Steven will be greatly missed by so many including his wife Nancy Thursby of Helendale, CA who he married on August 24, 2019; his parents Theodore and Patricia Thursby of Helendale, CA; and his brother and sister-in-law Gary and Diann Thursby of Hesperia, CA; and his baby girl Miley the Boxer.

Mr. Thursby enjoyed watching his beloved Miami Dolphins, Florida Gators and loved to ride out in the desert and take his RV out camping. He loved spending time out on the Colorado River or water skiing at local lakes in Southern California. His friends and family loved his sense of humor, silliness, and he wore his feelings on his sleeve. His wife will miss his love he gave to her.

His wife would like to extend a special thank you to the Five Mile Crew who loved him NO MATTER WHAT! Their love is immeasurable.

Mr. Thursby, you are in a better place now and you are whole.
