Patrick Lynn Marek was born on October 29th, 1952 in Sacramento, California, and was the second of five children. After high school he went into the Marine Corp. for two years, and after he got out he worked for Honeywell Corp. However, he desired to become a firefighter, and was able to complete his training and become a fireman for the city of Los Angeles California, “The best fire department there is,” he always said. Through his training he faced a serious health condition which brought him to become a born again Christian, and he married Georganne Cashen in 1982. He worked for LA city for over twenty five years as a firefighter, inspector, public service officer (PSO), and as an emergency dispatcher for the operations control division (OCD). After he retired, he worked out at Fort Irwin as an emergency dispatcher for five years. Throughout his life, he enjoyed many outdoor activities, including surfing, skiing, and mountain bike racing, and he loved to visit Mammoth Mountain frequently. Patrick took his last breath on the morning of September 22nd, 2019 and went home to be with the Lord. He leaves behind his wife Georganne Marek, his four children, Michael Marek (and spouse Bethany), Heidi Aaenson (and spouse Andy), Greta Marek, and Stephen Marek, and hisgranddaughter, Gwen Marek. Patrick is also survived by his mother, Eileen Marek, his brother, Charles Marek II, and his sisters, Linda Marek, and Marcheta Paley (and spouse Tim). He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Marek, and his sister, Melanie Mare
