Owen was born February 26, 1963, in Upland, California. He enjoyed his childhood and early adult years at his parents home in Etiwanda, California, and has remained connected to the area throughout his life. After growing up in the construction industry, Owen embarked on a lifelong career in heavy industry, working chiefly as a sales representative for major mining and conveyor equipment. His sales territories were mostly in the Western United States but would eventually cover much of the Western Hemisphere and take him to countries all over the world making him friends everywhere.
Owen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints his entire life and served as a missionary for the church as a young man in the Minneapolis, Minnesota Mission.
Surviving Mr. Long includes immediate family members: his parents, David Walter Long and Karen Robinson Long; siblings, Everett Walter Long, David Arvin Long, Desiree Lanette Clark, Mindy Ellen Whitford, and Stanley Tallman and their families.
Services will be held Friday, July 8, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. at the Rancho Cucamonga Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 6829 Etiwanda Avenue, Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
Internment will occur at the Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery in Riverside, California at a later date.
