Mariah was born in the city of Montebello, her family nickname was “Yaya” shortly after she was born our family relocated to Hesperia, CA. That is where she grew up attending elementary through high school. She graduated from Mojave High School.
As a child, Mariah was very soft spoken and polite with such a beautiful soul and smile, not to mention her hair was always combed perfectly with different styles, “Mommy made sure of that.” Some of her childhood memories that come to mind are when she was little she would rub Mommy’s face and say “I love you.” With so much affection or when she would eat candy on the down low with her best friend “Her Daddy” she was definitely a Daddy’s Girl. Whenever she asked for something that she really wanted she would never make eye contact, she would look upwards until she got the answer she wanted, most of the time it was Yes.
Going into her teenage years Mariah started developing her likes and dislikes, she made it a point that everyone knew what those were. One of her favorite meals were Daddy’s Green Enchiladas, those were the way to her heart; her favorite color was Teal and she loved Butterflies. So when you see a butterfly think of her and remember a beautiful memory you’ve had with her.
Mariah had a genuine love for the Lord. The type of heart she had and the love and passion that she had for others that were broken showed that the Father lived within her. She was taught the truth of His word at an early age and truly knew the Heart of The Father, which leads to why she stood firm in her beliefs. If you ever brought any heartaches or troubles to her attention, she would always lean on the Word of God to bring comfort to anybody. She believed in her big beautiful heart that her Lord was her savior and she wanted others to have the same belief.
Mariah was a talented make up artist “That was her passion.” To make others look beautiful, she was a perfectionist. She would sit in her room with her headphones on and do all different types of styles to her hair and make up until she was satisfied.
Mariah has many cousins that she had an amazing bond with, Nino Loved her to pieces like his own Daughter and many aunts and uncles who will miss her deeply. Some of her crazy quotes that we all can remember her saying frequently when talking or joking around with her was “I’m crying!” Or “I’m dead” she had a unique sense of humor.
Mariah was the favorite Auntie/Godmother to her nieces and nephews, they all loved YaYa. She referred to them as “My Loves” or “My Babies” she would do a special hello and goodbye with her God daughter, she would bump heads and say “Noggin” Auntie YaYa will always be remembered by them and we will do everything to make sure they never forget her.
To our Newly Guardian Angel in Heaven, Mariah, we will miss you dearly on earth but we will keep your memory alive. We believe we will be reunited again but in the meantime enjoy your time with our Heavenly Father and continue shining bright Baby Girl, Love, “YaYa.”
