Larry was a resident of Apple Valley, CA. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judith Malm, their three children; Debra Saude, David Malm and Dana Malm, seven grandchildren; Nicole, Brian, Stephanie, Taylor, Kellie, Jared and Tristen. And five great grandchildren; Nixon, Oaklyn, Maddox, Kylie and Dallas.
Larry always said “once a Marine, always a Marine”, and spoke of his time in the service as it was a meaningful experience in his life. One that he was especially proud of.
Larry worked for General Dynamics for 32 years, retiring at 55 years old. He often spoke of how lucky he felt to have gotten to be part of his grandchildren’s lives and watching them grow. You would often see him with one or two of the grandchildren on his lap reading to them or watching cartoons.
Larry enjoyed camping and fishing and spent many years going to San Felipe and Laughlin with family and friends.
Larry volunteered for seven years with the Hesperia Citizens on Patrol. He took the responsibility to heart as he would often be the person called to assist in the middle of the night. He was also the COP Commander during part of his service there.
Larry was loved and admired by those who knew him. He was a great person who cared about others and would do anything for you. He was a special man to his family and friends.
