Mr. Donald "Don" Kenneth Hutson

Donald Kenneth Hutson of Wrightwood, CA, born April 22nd, 1928 in Rochester, Minnesota, died March 25th 2023. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle Kenneth Hutson, 1/23/1905 – 4/14/1973 and Pearl Agnes Hutson, 7/28/1905 – 1/26/1997, sister, Dorthy Marie Hutson (Cornwell), 9/18/1925 – 3/29/2005 and wife and love of his life, Alice Mae Hutson, 2/1/1930 – 8/21/2019. Don is survived by his son, Steven Kenneth Hutson and daughter-in-law, Beverly Ann Hutson, three grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, twelve great,great grandchildren, and generations of nieces and nephews. His parents relocated from Minnesota to Pomona, CA in 1934. In his teen years he was raised on his parents riding stable in Pomona. He was a US Army Veteran, serving his country in the Pacific at the end of WW2. He arrived in Japan in 1946 and then stationed in the Philippines for the remainder of his duty. Don married Alice in 1948 and the resided in Pomona until his retirement in 1991 and then relocated to Wrightwood, CA. Don was a truck driver most of his life. He was a member of the Elk’s and American Legion. He enjoyed going with Alice to their Big Bear Retreat on weekends where they had many friends. Don also enjoyed boating, fishing, and camping with family. He enjoyed going on hunting trips to Colorado with his son and two grandsons. A memorial service will be held at Hill Side Church, SR-2 in Wrightwood, CA, on May11th at 11:30AM. Don will be laid to rest at the VA National Cemetery in Riverside, CA, besides his wife Alice at a later date.
