On Thursday, September 14, 2023, our father, Andrew Francis Kanczel, passed away. He was born in Long Island, New York on August 10, 1961, he was 62 years old. Andrew joined the United States Marine Corps in 1982. His Marine Corps decorations include: M-16 Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, M-16 Rifle Marksman Badge, .45 Pistol Marksman Badge, Meritorious Mast (2), Letter of Recognition, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and Good Conduct Medal. He received an honorable discharge from the Marine Corps in 1986, but remained a Marine his entire life, as anyone who ever met him would know.
He is survived by his mother, Kathryn Kanczel of Lynn Haven, Florida; his sisters Karyn Harnden and AnneMarie Kanczel Walker; his brother Gerard Kanczel; his four children: Daniel Brenton Kanczel (Misayo) of Okinawa, Japan; Andrew Justin Kanczel (Megan) of Tucson, Arizona; Antonio Roberto Kanczel of Barstow, California; and Michaele Marie Gonzalez (Nick) of Temecula, California; and seven (7) grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Kern Hesperia Mortuary 16120 Main Street Hesperia, CA 92345 at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023. Interment will follow at Riverside National Cemetery 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023.
