Amelia was born to Pedro and Atilana Alforte on October 19, 1953 in Naga City, Philippines.
She was raised along with her three brothers and two sisters. In 1972 she married Charlie
McKinley and would become a loyal wife of 48 years, and a loving step mother to Lisa Mckinley.
She gave birth to her first son Charles in 1977 and later that year the family moved to Victorville,
California. In 1984 she fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a registered nurse and began a
career that she would enjoy for the next 36 years. In 1992 her second son Nathan was born.
Our mom will be remembered by friends and family for her warm, caring, loving, selfless, and
giving heart. She enjoyed being a nurse and making a difference in the lives of her patients.
She was passionate about making a good home for her family and being a good mom, and she
was devoted to helping her family so that they could make their own lives better.
Amelia is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren and great granddaughter.
A viewing and service will be held at Kern Mortuary in Hesperia, California on February 17 from
5:00pm to 8:00pm. Her funeral mass will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Las Vegas,
Nevada on February 25 at 3pm. The funeral and burial will take place at Southern Nevada
Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada on February 26 at 9:20 am.
