William E. “Bill” Bates, 90, formerly from Ohio, Porterville and recently Henderson, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017. He was born May 30, 1927 to Henry and Bessie Bates in Springfield, Ohio. Bill served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. After leaving the army, Bill dedicated his life to
the lord as a minister of the Pentecostal church. In addition, Bill worked twenty five years for Superior Coach in Lima, Ohio. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather and friend. Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pat; his parents, Henry and Bessie; his son, Tom; and his brothers, Robert and James. Bill is survived by sons Chuck (Linda), Michael (Lynnette) and Steven (Laurie); Daughters Marcella and Brenda (Sam); 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; and his sister Maxine. Burial will be September 29, 2017 at 9:20 am at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr., Boulder City, NV. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Nathan Adelson Hospice for the excellent care and compassion they gave our father and family. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his honor to Nathan Adelson Hospice, Las Vegas.
