Vicki Newell

On November 19, 2013, Vicki D. Newell, a long time Nevada resident, passed away. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar B. and Jeanette Lowman, and husband, Larry Rex Newell, retired Captain of the Henderson Fire Department. She is survived by two children - Vera G. Jordan of Henderson and Twila K. Heiselman of Las Vegas; four grandchildren - John T. Eval, II, Danica Garcia, Amy Jordan, and Bryce Jordan; her brother, Branson D. Lowman; and sister, Viannah D. Oscar. Vicki was a graduate of Basic High School and was dedicated to Nevada history and adult literacy. She was the Executive Director of the Northern Nevada Literacy Council for 18 years. Services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson,Nevada. A Celebration of Life immediately following at the home of Frank & Julie Belger.
