Tracy Helen (Fagan) McCloud was born on July 4,1964 at Tripler Army Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her family, Mom, Dad, Scott, Brian, Marty and Tracy moved to Salem, Oregon in 1966 when her father retired from the Air Force. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Helen Fagan, her brother Brian, and sister Marty. She will be remembered by her husband Ken, three children Summer, Riley, and Daniel, also her brother Scott, sister in law Leslie, niece Haley, nephews David, Matt, Jason and their extended families, as well as many other church family members and friends. She touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew her.
Tracy attended school in Salem. She enjoyed competitive roller-skating and fun times camping on the Santiam river where the family had a trailer. One of her nephew’s favorite memories was listening to records at Nana’s house. They would sit on the floor, listening to her favorite music: Bread, John Denver, ABBA, and Andy Gibb. Tracy loved singing to herself when she was young. Her nephew remembers going to see her in the musical “Bye-Bye Birdie” at McKay High School. She had one of the main parts and had a great performance.
She moved to Las Vegas in the 80’s. She worked as a receptionist for Dove Ministries, and always had a welcoming demeanor. Many would receive impromptu counseling sessions from her caring heart. Tracy was always available to listen and chat! She left for a season and served with Jesus people in Chicago, a Christian community focused on local missionary work and evangelism. After some time she then returned to ministry at Hallelujah Christian fellowship in Las Vegas.
She met Ken in the mid 90’s and they quickly became good friends. Both soon realized they had a special connection, but wanted to be sure they were completely in the Lord’s will, so they parted and continued their own mission pursuits. Tracy went to Mexico to minister to the poor. Ken went to Barstow to be a youth minister. They stayed in touch via phone calls and letters. Tracy came to Barstow to visit Ken after 6 months, and never left! They were married on September 18,1999 and served together for a year in youth ministry. After much prayer they were led by God back to Las Vegas.
At this point, Tracy became Pastor Richie Box’s assistant. Ken and Tracy also served on the missions board. Together they led teams to China and Mexico. Tracy’s journey with Jesus deepened when she and Ken decided to foster children. They fostered 46 children! They really wanted to adopt, but had a deep desire to allow the Holy Spirit to lead them in their choosing. He did, and three very special, unique children handpicked by God came into their lives. Summer, Riley and DJ who they absolutely adore. These beautiful children were grafted into the McCloud family. She loved and served her family until the day she went home to be with Christ. Her legacy will live on through her children.
