Sandra Leigh Mills

She graduated from Lake Park High School in Roselle, Illinois in 1969 and worked part time for Greyhound Van Lines.

Sandy moved to Kansas City, Missouri with her parents in 1970 where she worked as an Office Manager for the local office of the National CPA firm Fox & Company until August of 1978.

She met her future husband, Armon Mills on December 22, 1977. It was truly love at first sight.

Sandy and Armon had their first date on March 17th, 1978, were engaged on May 14th, 1978 and married on September 16th, 1978. Their son Darin LeRoi was born on September 18, 1979, and their daughter Trina Leigh was born on Christmas Eve, 1980. Sandy enjoyed a wonderful relationship with her two step daughters, Kathryn Lawrence and Marnie Trotter and were bridesmaids in her wedding to Armon.

She retired from a business publication in San Jose, California in 2004, where she was the Events Manager. In 2004, Sandy was recognized by the Santa Clara Valley YWCA with the Tribute to Women in Industry (TWIN) award.

Sandy moved to San Diego, California with her husband in 2004 where she was an avid golfer and joined the ladies 9 hold golf group serving as the President and member of the Executive Committee for several years at Stoneridge Country Club in Poway, California.

Sandy and Armon moved to Henderson, Nevada in 2019, residing in the Heritage community within the Cadence Residential master plan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman Weston and Lois Lucille Quist and her grandparents, Axel and Katherine Nelson.

Sandy is survived by Armon, her husband of 47 years and two children, Darin LeRoi Mills (Amanda) and Trina Leigh Mills Bockman (Victor), one Brother-In-law, James Mills, two Sister-In-Laws, Patti and Margaret Ann Mills, two step children, Kathy Lawrence and Marnie Ann Trotter (James), three step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.

Sandy suffered from a long-term lung disease and passed away on Saturday April 19th, 2025.

She was surrounded by loved ones who were there to love and support her, to honor her and to carry her spirit with us, embracing the love she so generously shared.

A Celebration of Sandy's life will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025 At 11:00 am at Heritage Symphony Hall
