Richard Erwin Hurt

June 4th, 1936 - April 17th, 2021

Richard Hurt passed away peacefully on April 17th, 2021 at his home in North Las Vegas. He was 84 at the time of his passing.

Richard was the first born son of Leslie Raymond Hurt and Muriel Evelyn Hurt, born on June 4th, 1936 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Family moved to Redondo Beach, California in 1942 where Richard later attended Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, California.

Richard loved sports and became a long distance runner for Mira Costa High School. He could also be found at Muscle Beach where he enjoyed competitive weightlifting.

In June of 1954, Richard joined the United States Marine Corps. Soon after he would be stationed in Hawaii. Many fun stories were told about these times in Hawaii by Harold (Hal) Arthur Hansen, a lifelong family friend. He loved Star Trek and football, and was always active in his Church.

Richard moved to Las Vegas, Nevada around 1992 where he lived until the date of his passing.

Richard was preceded in death by his father Leslie Raymond Hurt, mother Muriel Evelyn Hurt, brothers Leslie Raymond Hurt Jr., Gary Boden Hurt Sr, and nephew Gary Boden Hurt Jr. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Angela Hurt.

At the time of Richards passing he was survived by his wife of 12 years Norma Dean Hurt, who joined him in heaven a short two weeks later.

Richard is also survived by his Daughter Lisa Renee Hurt, His lifelong best friend and brother in Christ, Harold (Hal) Arthur Hansen, as well as three nieces and great nieces and nephews.

Richards jovial laugh, great smile, kind heart, and caring spirit will be greatly missed.
