Rachel Aurella Smoot Goodale, 76, of Henderson, passed away on January 25, 2018. She was born on September 4, 1941 in Salina, Utah. Aurella moved to Henderson with her parents and sisters in 1957 from Antimony, Utah. She attended Basic High School and completed cosmetology school.
Aurella worked as a beautician for 17 years at the Witches Hut in Henderson and then as a dental office assistant for Dr. Paul Marshall for 20 years and then Dr. Eldon Clothier for 6 years. She is a member of the LDS church and held many positions over the years. She was a member of the International Society Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
Aurella is preceded in death by her parents RL and Helen Smoot, sisters, Juanita Walden-Westby, Helen Price and Janice Neilson. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dean "Butch" Goodale, her daughters, Terri Leitner (Marc), Tracy Davatolhagh, Toni Barden and Teddi Biggs and her son, Theron Goodale. Sister-in-laws, Kay Howerton and Martha Goodale both of Escondido, California; eleven grandchildren – Rachel Soukup, Amanda Covington, Aubrey Wilson (Thelton), Alex Baskin, Trisha Davatolhagh, Jenifer Juergens-Piep (Dustin), Joshua Cote’ (Samantha), Brandi Biggs, Tyler Goodale, Kylie Goodale and Ethan Goodale; eight great-grandchildren – Isabella, Angelina, Kayla, Thelton J., Kaiden, Brenden, Jaylynne and Brooklyn and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The National Stroke Association in her name would be a wonderful way to honor her. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Palm Mortuary for their kindness during our time of need.
