Peggy L. Nielson

Our mom, Peggy Louise Nielson, 85, passed away peacefully at home on Monday August 21, 2017. Her beloved husband Duaine was impatiently waiting for her in Heaven, telling her to hurry up. She and Duaine discovered a love for the ages when they found each other late in life, way back in 1975 and marrying just 10 days later. A true love story. Mom was a longtime resident of Henderson, having lived here since approximately 1960. She & dad were long time owners of Duaine's Automotive, before he retired in 1996. After they retired they enjoyed traveling to the Oregon coast to enjoy the majestic scenery but also to eat fried oysters. When home they enjoyed their family and "playing a little" at the local casinos. She was predeceased by her dearly missed husband Duaine Nielson, parents Ruth & Clyde Markwood, her sister Betty Wilcox, and one stepson, Kelly Nielson. She is survived by daughters Linda (and David) Holland, Lori (and Bob) Nielson, Nancy Nielson, sons Mark (and Sheri) Thompson, Steve (and Leanna) Thompson, Bob (and Lori) Nielson, Mark Nielson and many dearly loved grandchildren and her 3 grand-doggies. She is also survived by her loving caregivers of the last year and a half, Gail, Ana, Wendy, Lisa and Barbara. We could not have kept mom at home as she wished without their loving assistance and Nathan Adelson Hospice. A true blessing. Services will be held August 28, 2017 at Palm Mortuary in Henderson, 800 Boulder Highway, next to Smiths. Viewing 10:30-11:30, service 11:30-12:30, internment prayer at 1:20 at the Boulder City Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, Nevada, with reception lunch following.
