In Loving Memory of Marilyn Dodd Marilyn was born April 18, 1942 to Gerald and Jean Langton in Nova Scotia Canada. Marilyn was the oldest of four children. Her parents moved to American when she was a young girl. She grew up in Hawthorne California. In her teenage years she was involved in the Rainbow girls and even when to high school with the beach boys although she said they never surf a day in their lives. After high school Marilyn had her first child Melanie and shortly after she met Al Dodd her husband for the next 51 years. Al and Marilyn had three children Craig, Daniel and Lisa, and this started the Dodd Family. Marilyn was a phenomenal housewife, cooking, cleaning and the daily operations she made it seem effortless but where she excels at was being a great mom that was her passion. Her children always came first whether it was a school function last minute project or sporting event she was always there. Marilyn was very involved in little league and pop warner and ran the snack bar for many years but when it was game time there was no mistaking she was always in the stands with a scorebook in one hand and a cigarette in the other cheering the loudest she was our biggest cheerleader. Marilyn always made her children feel loved and special and had this way that whoever was with her they were the most important and they were the favorite. Marilyn was the glue that keeps our family together and she was happiest when she saw her children grow and start their own families Al and Marilyn moved to Nevada where she volunteer at BC hospital, she also enjoyed painting crafts, and baking she is known for her famous carrot cake at least from the bible study classes and AA meetings. Marilyn enjoyed her friends and husband but still yearned for the days of taking care of kids. Lisa her youngest gave her that chance with Ryan and Ashley. Marilyn loved taking care of her grandchildren she was doing what she loved most taking care of her family. Marilyn enjoyed attending all of grandchildren functions and sporting events and again who ever she was with she made that grandchild feel that they were the favorite. Marilyn was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren and thought we were all perfect in her eyes. Marilyn and Al joined Highland Hills Baptist Church where they attended over the next 15years she taught Sunday school and made many great friends and enjoyed serving at her church. Marilyn was called to be with the Lord on April 27, 2016. She is survived by her parents Gerald and Jean Langton, siblings; Gerald, Connie & John, children; Melanie, Craig, Daniel & Lisa, grandchildren; Jeffrey, Jacob, Royce, Lauryn, James, Ryan, Ashley &Solomon, as well as great grandchildren. She was truly loved and will be greatly missed by all.
