La Donna Dawson Johnston (66) passed away on March 13, 2015, in Las Vegas, NV. La Donna was born
in Otterville, MO on July 14, 1948. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Hiser M. Johnson,
Jr., eldest son John Christopher, second eldest son Mark Anthony (Stephanie), only daughter Marlo
Annette (Michael), youngest son Hiser Merian, mother Gloria Pryor, sister Elaine McWilson (David),
sister-in-laws Deborah Dawson and Irene Brodley, brother-in-laws, John Brodley and James Brodley,
Grandchildren, Otto, Kymberly, Ashley, Brittany, Briana, Markeyz, and LaDonna, along with many loving
Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and friends.
She was preceded by John R. Dawson (Father), John R. Dawson II (Brother), and Lloyd Eugene Dawson
(Brother).
La Donna attended C.C. Hubbard High School in Sedalia, MO. As the devoted wife of a 20 year Air Force
veteran, she traveled to many exotic locations such as the Philippines, Germany, and Italy where she
had a passion for service to others as a volunteer with the American Red Cross.
Upon her husband’s retirement, La Donna moved to Henderson, NV where she worked for nearly 20
years as a dedicated employee for Station Casino properties at both Boulder Station and Green Valley
Ranch Casinos. Both La Donna and Hiser are members of Community Baptist Church of Henderson, NV.
Her hobbies were numerous, but she loved to crochet most of all, where as a master at her craft, she
made many beautiful afghans, dollies, and coasters that will forever be cherished.
La Donna was passionate and devoted to her family and made lifelong friends wherever she went.
