Joe Sanchez, Jr., 84, passed away February 11, 2014 at his home in Laughlin, Nevada. He was born in Los Angeles, California, February 2, 1930. At the age of 18 years old, Joe joined the United States Army and served for 2 years. He moved his family to Cypress, California where he lived for 35 years. After he retired he and his wife moved to Laughlin, Nevada. Joe was married to Martha Gonzalez Sanchez for 63 years. Father to Art Sanchez of Dana Point, California, Geri Gracia of Laughlin, Nevada, Robert Sanchez of Ramona, California, Joey Sanchez of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Joe's favorite scripture was John 3:16; “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Joe was very active, enjoyed golf, playing handball at Cypress College in California, swimming, scuba diving, dancing with his wife, music, working around his home, riding his bike to Seal Beach from Cypress California. He loved taking his 32 ft. Uniflight to Catalina Island, camping down south, traveling to the Mexican Riviera - Maui. Entertaining family and friends in his home, coaching Little League baseball in Cypress, playing on his computer, and his passion for building and flying his model airplanes by remote control at El Dorado Park, Long Beach, California and Laughlin, Nevada. Joe was a man of many skills. Owned a Muffler & Radiator, Air conditioning shop in California, he was also a truck driver, welder, roofer, plumber, mechanic, did construction and whatever needed to be done to improve his home the way he wanted it. Joe was a man who would always help his friends and family who needed it. He loved life, teaching his son's, always there for his children, and last but not least he loved the Lord.
