James R. Potter, 56, passed away on February 22, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born May 11, 1968, in Lemon, South Dakota, James was the soulmate of his wife, Heidi Scott Potter, and a loving father to his son, Tristin Potter. He is survived by his mother, Sue Potter, and his siblings: Ray Potter (Loranda), Carol Potter, and Betty Potter Fitzgerald (Jay). He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Potter, and his brother, Gary Potter (Kathleen).
James was known for his unwavering optimism, even in the face of illness. He had a natural ability to bring people together with his great sense of humor, his passion for cooking, and his deep love for his family, friends, and life.
A memorial service will be held on March 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Palm Mortuary on Boulder Hwy., 800 S Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015 with a reception to follow at 2:00 PM at the American Legion 425 E Van Wagenen St, Henderson, NV 89015.
