Gregory Patrick “Pat” Connors, a man whose zest for life was a beacon of inspiration, passed away on August 20, 2024, in Henderson, NV. Born on March 3, 1947, in Long Beach, CA, Pat was an Army Vietnam Veteran who carried the spirit of camaraderie and adventure throughout his life. His military service was just one of many chapters in a life well-lived.
A graduate of North High School in Torrance, Pat traded his academic cap for a hard hat, becoming a Foreman for the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 94. There, he not only led his crew with unmatched skill but also with an entertaining flair that could turn the dullest day at the docks into a lively storytelling session about Zecharia Sitchin and the Annunaki.
Pat’s partying was legendary. He was known to shake his groove and tell riveting stories that might have been embellished just a tad—though he swore the Annunaki were always involved. His storytelling skills, which always started with “Well, you know!” never failed to entertain, and when it came to his beloved Jameson, well, let us say the bottle was never far from reach.
He leaves behind his eldest daughter, Michelle Minsky; her husband Harold; their son Garrett (Veteran Navy Submariner); his wife Madalyn (who is expecting Pat’s first great-granddaughter); their daughter Sara Jayne, his favorite Cribbage player; and their son Taggert. His middle daughter Tanya Nissen, her husband Michael (Veteran Army Helicopter Mechanic for the 160th), and their daughter Hazel. Lastly, his youngest son, Sean Connors, and his granddaughter, Makena. And his beloved dog, Sam. Pat’s family will forever treasure the many hours spent with a man who never missed a chance to be a loving, fun-filled Papa who always managed to get his wisecracks and dance in.
Services to celebrate Pat’s extraordinary life will be held at a later date—no doubt, with an abundance of stories, a touch of the supernatural, and a toast or two to a man who knew how to live life to the fullest. Cheers, Pat! We will miss you and your one-of-a-kind antics.
