He is preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Margaret (Sprague) Vondran and stepmother Evelyn Vondran (Sprague) and his brothers Robert Ferring Sr. and William Vondran. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Goodnough) Vondran of 54 years, his daughter Kimberly (Ross) Herman, and 3 grandchildren, Che, Beda, and Ava. He is also survived by his 2 brothers, Ted Ferring (Joan) and family, Joe Vondran (Chris) and family, along with nieces, nephews, many cousins and lots of friends who have become family.
He was born in Dubuque, Iowa but moved and grew up in Chicago where he graduated from Lane Tech before joining the service. During that time he married Linda in 1968 and had Kim in 1972. He first joined the Marine Corps and then enlisted with the Air National Guard per their request and had a total of 22 years of military service before retiring.
He worked most of his years in communications with Centel (Century Link, Sprint…) and retired. He has lived the last 20 years in Henderson, NV. He enjoyed going to concerts, movies, playing Euchre and visiting with family and friends. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and would do anything for the ABC kids. He loved attending anything they were involved in. He will be greatly missed by so many!
