Earl Ross “Curly” Chenowith left this earth due to natural causes and began his next journey on January 18, 2017. Curly was born on March 17th, 1924 in Fairland, OK to John and Bessie Chenowith. He is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife and fishing partner of 32 years, Oliver “Babe”, and 5 sisters. He is survived by his daughter Linda (Doug), son Bill (Noreen), four grandchildren, Randy (Donna), Steven (Rachel), Teresa (Lincoln), Miriam (Mason), and seven great grandchildren.
Curly graduated high school in Grove, OK, where he excelled in sports. He joined the Army Air Corps and was a veteran of WWII. He worked as a machinist on Davis Dam and Hoover Dam during their constructions. He then worked in the painting industry in Las Vegas, NV as a member of the Painters Local #159. While there, he was elected and served as the Business Representative for 18 years before retiring in 1986. He was a Master Mason of Mt. Moriah #39 for 50 years and also a member of the Scottish Rite.
While he was a most accomplished business man, he also was an avid and accomplished outdoorsman and fisherman. Such a man of integrity, who was respected by his peers and family, will be greatly missed.
