Doris Mae Nesbit of Boulder City Nevada was called to her eternal home on February 22, 2016. She was born on May 21, 1934 in Schuyler Nebraska. She was the only child of Mathew James and Eva Elzada Barr. Doris graduated from high school in Kearney Nebraska in 1951. She joined the Women’s Army Corps in 1952 and was stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco where she met her one and only, Harry William Nesbit. They were married in April 1954 and started their family soon after. After marrying in San Francisco they lived in Needles California, Blythe California, and finally settled in Boulder City Nevada.
Harry and Doris were both only children so they wanted a large family and the Lord blessed them with four children. Her greatest accomplishment was being a homemaker and raising her family. She was a gifted singer and enjoyed all of the years she was a member of her churches choirs. She faithfully praised the Lord with her singing for over 50 years. She also loved going out for a meal and a movie with her son, and sharing post-service fellowship with her coffee club. While she was able she found great pleasure in traveling, visiting friends and family as much as possible.
She was predeceased by Harry in 2004. She is survived by her children Deborah Louise Sjulstad (Randall), Valerie Jean Worthington (James), Susan Jane Bopp (Michael), and David Mathew William Nesbit. They blessed her with six grandchildren, Travis (Nicole), Jennifer (Josh), Cassandra, Katherine (David), Justin, and William (Amanda). Her grandchildren further blessed her with ten great-grandchildren, Kymber, Logan, William, Brooklyn, Lucas, Elizabeth, Alexander Joseph, Deacon, Odin, and Arlan.
Memorial services will be held at Grace Community Church, 1150 Wyoming Street, Boulder City NV, on Saturday Feb 27, 2016 at 11:00am with the Reverend David Graham officiating.
