Doris Jean Mitchell, age 65, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away peacefully at home on August 12, 2023, after a heroic 6-year battle with cancer. She was born December 24, 1957 at Hamilton Air Force Base in California, the daughter of Cathy Winifred (Gilpin) Mitchell and James(Jim) Henry Mitchell II. Doris went to high school in Las Vegas, Nevada, graduating from Rancho High School in 1976.

Doris enjoyed being very active in her own business, a real estate and mortgage company, which brought her into contact with many people who became her friends. She loved her 4 dogs, spending time in the family vacation property in the mountains, being a homemaker, cooking, exploring oceans and beaches, crafts, getting her ham radio license KF7NSK; and above all, spending time with friends and family who miss her deeply.

Doris is survived by her former husband and lifelong husband-by-heart, Gary (Dad) Kevin Englestead; their son, Kevin Michael Mitchell; her sister, Susan (Sue) Mary Mitchell; her brothers: Patrick (Pat) Robert Mitchell, James (Jimmer) Henry Mitchell, III; and niece, Angela (Angie) Rose Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents: Cathy Winifred (Gilpin) Mitchell and James (Jim) Henry Mitchell III.

The family will Celebrate her life at a later date at a date and time to be announced in the future.
