He then worked in Washington, D.C. at the House Post Office. In 1965, he moved back to Nevada where he worked at Spring Mountain Youth Camp for 11 years. When Harry Reid was elected to Congress in 1983, he called Don to work with him in his D.C. office. Don was a legislative assistant, then office manager until 1989. He moved back to Nevada to be assistant director in Sen. Reid’s Las Vegas office until he retired.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his youngest brother Roger. He is survived by his sister Sharon Rothwell, brother Gary Wilson (Jeannie), nieces Regina Roybal (Matt) and Robin Rothwell, nephew Darin Rothwell, great-nieces Jillian Roybal and Courtney Mall, and great-nephews Ryan Roybal and Jacob Mall.
Throughout his life, Don was an avid reader, traveler and sports fan. He had season tickets to UNLV baseball, and he always rooted for the Basic Wolves. A great storyteller, a loving family member and a devoted friend, Don will be greatly missed.
