Dennis L. Schumacher, age 93, died on August 9, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Wilmar, MN and later moved to Minneapolis. He was the youngest of three boys born to Walter and Carrie (Hoy) Schumacher.
He enlisted in the Army in 1941 and was one of the original volunteers selected for the 1st Ranger Battalion of the famed "Darby’s Rangers," serving proudly in the European/Mediterranean Theater. After the service, he worked in California as an extra in the movies, Las Vegas as an Entertainment Director and Bartender, San Francisco as a sales rep for Volvo, and Sausalito as a Maitre'D at the Spinnaker Restaurant.
Dennis was blessed with a long and happy life. He loved to golf and travel, many times combining the two with family members. His children and grandchildren are thankful for so many wonderful memories that they will cherish forever. He will be missed dearly. He is survived by his 3 children, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Cemetery services, with Military Honors, will be held at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 12:40 pm.

Survivors include his daughter, Pamela Richmond of Mercer Island, WA; son Denis Schumacher and his wife Kathryn of Independence, KY; son Tim Schumacher of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Robert Selmer (Air Force Pilot) and his wife Melinda (Air Force Admin) of Auburn, WA; Briana Richmond of College Station, TX; Elizabeth Plawner and her husband Jason of New York, NY; Adam and Bradley Richmond of Mercer Island, WA; Kyle and Cody Schumacher of Independence, KY; Evan and Cole Schumacher of Las Vegas, NV, great-grandchildren, Alena and Quinton Selmer of Auburn, WA.
