David Philip Pike, age 83, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away peacefully at home on February 19, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born in Glendale, California, on February 11, 1938, to Philip and Dorothy Pike. David attended Van Nuys High School where he played football and could be found cruising Van Nuys Boulevard on the weekends with his car club and best friends. David joined the U.S. Marine Corps after graduation and served our country in Okinawa, Japan, in the heavy artillery division.
David and Sandy met and fell in love in 1970. They spent 50 years together and were blessed with children, grandchildren, and many adventures. Their favorite thing to do was to camp and fish with the kids and grandkids at June Lake. Together they built two successful businesses – Pike Trucking and Pike Water Well Drilling. During David’s 20 years in the drilling business in Newberry Springs, he was an important part of the community, always there to help people in need.
A true family man with a good heart, David was kind, funny, and had a way about him that could always make you smile. Everyone left behind will hold him close in their heart.
David was preceded in Heaven by his parents and his grandchildren, Tristan and Henry. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy; children: Kimberly, Holly, and Steven; daughter-in-law, Katie; grandchildren: Madison, Wyatt, Ryder, and Grace; sister, Joann; brother, Robert; and many cousins.
