Clara Sawyer Palmer

Clara was born on February 20th 1939, in Hatch, UT and is the youngest of eleven children born to Thomas Hatch Sawyer and Beryl Rhoana Workman Sawyer.

Clara attended elementary school in Hatch, UT, and high school in Panquitch, UT where she graduated from Panguitch High School in 1957.

Clara married Robert K Palmer on May 18th 1957, in Hatch, UT and sealed in the LDS St. George Temple on May 18th 1971. They have two boys Scott Robert Palmer (April) and Kenneth Joseph Palmer (Denise); four grandchildren Robert Scott Palmer (Danielle), Lori Lynn Palmer, Joseph Paul Palmer, and Julia Kathleen Palmer; and five great grandchildren Dorian Mercedes Hutchinson (Ethan), Skylar Danger Palmer, Allesandra Lynn Costa, Natalia Rose Costa, and Ryder Scott Randall Palmer.

Clara had a devoted love for ELVIS. Robert took her to see all his movies, her sister Naomi accompanied her to a concert, and her friend Pat traveled with her to Hawaii. She was excited at any chance she had to see Elvis.

Clara loved the piano. She paid for lessons and purchased pianos for her granddaughters and enjoyed listening to them play.

Clara always made Christmas a special time and all the grandkids/great grandkids looked forward to ‘going to grandmas’ more than Santa Claus.

Clara retired after 30 years as a dietician at St. Rose De Lima Hospital in Henderson, NV. Many of her lifelong friends were made during her time at the hospital.

Clara was preceded in death by her father Thomas; mother Beryl; brothers Ellis, Nile, Floyd, David, Ronald; and sisters Veota, Rhoana, Wanda, and Naomi.

Clara is survived by her spouse Robert; brother Clifton (Kerry); sons Scott (April), Ken (Denise); grandchildren Robert (Danielle), Lori, Joseph, Julia; and great grandchildren Dorian (Ethan), Skylar, Allesandra, Natalia, and Ryder.

Per her wishes, Clara will be buried along side her mother Beryl and brother Ellis in Hatch, UT at a date to be determined.
