Carole Ann Gervais, age 83, of Henderson, Nevada passed, away on Sunday, September 13, 2020. She was born Carole Ann Hoover, January 11, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan; to her parents George Peter Hoover and Malvina Marguerite Hendry, and was the second youngest of eight children. Raised in Michigan, Carole graduated from St. Rita’s High School in 1954 and went on to attend college at Mt San Antonio Community College.
Carole worked in various positions and in different businesses prior to working for the Fire Department in Detroit; where she was responsible for issuing permits for flammable liquid storage. She then worked in Pomona, CA for the Police Department; where she held various positions and was assigned by the police chief to be the secretary for the Combined Agencies of Los Angeles County.
While working in Los Angeles, she met the love of her life at a Parents without Partners dance in July of 1977. The couple blended their lives and families when they married in Los Angeles on 25 February 1978.
Carole was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, whom devoted her life to her family. She liked to knit, enjoyed reading, and spending time with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. She enjoyed her Princess Cruise to Ensanada, a trip to the Dominican Republic she; but mostly enjoyed motor homing around the country with the grandkids. Carole had a heart of gold, a free spirit, and vibrant smile and will truly be missed.
Carole was preceded in death by her father, George Hoover; mother, Malvina Hoover (nee Hendry); sisters: Audrey, Shirley, and Malvina; and brothers: George, Thomas, Maurice, and an infant. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Lowell; children: David Lazarov of Elephant Butte, NM, Charlene Zane (Jeff) (nee Bellafaire) of Lake Forest. CA, and Joseph Bellafaire of Chino Hills, CA; brother, Bert Hoover (Jeri) of Detroit, Michigan; 4 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 4 great grand children; 2 step great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and 2 step great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service for Carole will be held Thursday, October 8, 2020 from 1:20 PM to 1:50 PM at Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
Due to COVID-19, government restrictions will be in place, and all family and guests in attendance will be required to wear and mask.
