Carol J. Slone, wife of Vernon Slone and mother of two sons Jason and Derrick Slone, passed away on July 24, 2020 at the age of 73 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Marquette, Michigan on January 16, 1947 to her parents Walter Aho and Margaret Williams. Carol graduated from Marquette Senior High School in 1965. She married Vernon on March 13, 1971 in Marquette while stationed there in the U.S. Air Force.
Carol has resided in the Las Vegas Valley since 1982 when Vernon was stationed to Nellis Air Force Base. She was a loyal friend and dedicated mother who devoted her entire life to raising her sons and giving them all the love she could give. Carol also had a passionate love for animals especially her dogs. Carol also had a lifelong love of water borne by her growing up on Lake Superior in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. She was a beacon of strength and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, and son, Jason. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Vernon; her son Derrick; two sisters: Lois and Joanie, and brother, Walter.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, August 11, 2020 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. She will be laid to rest at Palm Henderson Cemetery, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015.
Due to COVID-19, government restrictions will be in place, and all guests must wear a mask while in attendance.
