Carol Dawn Marshall

Carol Marshall, 83, passed away Oct. 16, 2012, in Henderson, where she resided since 1953. She was born Aug. 23, 1929, in Pleasant Grove, Utah, to Blain Larsen and Floretta Cleone Bunker. Their family moved to Orem, Utah, where she was raised on a farm, received her education and graduated from Lincoln High School. She then attended BYU, where she met and married Paul T. Marshall, July 21, 1950, in the Manti LDS Temple. In 1953, they moved to Henderson, where her husband established his dental practice and Carol assisted when needed. Carol was a caring, loving mother and their home was welcome to many, including several foreign exchange students, who were benefactors of the generosity and love extended to them. Carol was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served many years as Ward Relief Society President, Stake Relief Society President, in the Young Women's Program and as a dedicated visiting teacher. Carol also served several years in the Las Vegas Nevada Temple. She and her husband served a mission at the Chicago Illinois Temple. Carol had a strong testimony of her Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ. Carol also served in community and service organizations and was a member of the Clark County Museum Guild and Daughters of Utah Pioneers, serving in leadership positions for over 58 years. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; daughter, Diana; parents, Blain and Cleone Larsen; and brother, Blain Ellwood Larsen. She is survived by children, Juanita (Wallace) Peterson of Colorado, Richard (Sylvia) Marshall of Arizona, Blain (Cindy) Marshall of Henderson, Kent (Cathy) Marshall of Henderson, Colleen (Darrell) Garlick of Arizona, and Jane (Don) Nash of Henderson; and brother, Weston Dale Larsen of Utah. Carol enjoyed her 24 grandchildren; and her seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 22, at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the LDS Arrowhead Chapel, 801 Arrowhead Trail, Henderson, with visitation beginning at noon. Interment to follow at Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Clark County Museum Guild or to the LDS Temple Patrons Assistance Fund.
