Bonnie Lynn "Holston" Giles, age 78, of Henderson, Nevada passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023. she was born December 19, 1944, in Visalia, California. Bonnie's parents, Reba Jordan Holston and DeLynn Grant Holston were originally from North Carolina and Nebraska, respectably. She grew up in Fresno, California, and graduated from Bullard High School in 1962.

Bonnie entered Federal Service in 1971 and held positions in the Department of Agriculture, Social Security Administration, and the Bureau of Reclamation in Fresno and Sacramento, California. She also worked at Reclamation's Southern Nevada Water Project Office in Henderson, and at Hoover Dam, where she retired in 1995.

Bonnie married Gary J. Giles in 1977 and has been a resident of Henderson since 1978.

Since her retirement, she has directed her energy toward the furtherance of animal welfare activities by supporting numerous organizations such as the Nevada and the Central California Societies for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the Las Vegas Valley Humane Society, and Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, in Kanab, Utah. She was also a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association and the American Association of Retired Persons.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 38 years, Gary J. Giles; and cousins: Wesley Campbell, both of Exeter, California, Beverly Willbanks, Denver, Colorado, and Harriet Felker, Holdrege, Nebraska. She is survived by her cousin, Ina L. Ponzo.

There are no local services. Bonnie will be laid to rest, California. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to an animal welfare organization of your choice.
