Barry Robert Mulherin

Born and raised in Delaware County, Southwest of Philadelphia, he was the third of four children to Andy and Pat Mulherin.

Barry joined the United States Marine Corps after high school and was privileged to serve at Camp Pendleton, CA, Camp Lajeune, NC, and Okinawa, Japan. Barry returned to the Philadelphia area following his honorable discharge to work for UPS. On a fateful evening the day before Thanksgiving 36 years ago, Barry suffered a life changing spinal cord injury from a motorcycle accident. His resilience and determination pushed him through the healing process. This physical challenge opened new doors for his life and career goals. Barry pursued higher education and graduated from West Chester University, making new friends, and chose a career as an entrepreneur.

Barry opened his home brew wine and beer business with his wife, Dana, in South Philly. They enjoyed the neighborhood, living within a few blocks from his brother Andy. Barry and Dana enjoyed spending time with family at the shore house in Surf City, NJ. The cold, damp winters of the Northeast ultimately drove Barry, Dana, and their cats to retire to the warmth and dryness of the Nevada desert in 2012. After Dana’s untimely death in 2016, Barry developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of the Nevada area by driving his Jeep, taking day trips with his new “jeeping” friends.

Barry is survived by his father, Andrew Mulherin III, his siblings Andrew J. Mulherin, IV (Renee Weldon- Dion), Carrie Mulherin, and Julianne McEvoy (Paul), and his nephew, Aidan McEvoy.

We invite friends to join the family for a memorial service at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 2:00 pm.

A gathering to celebrate Barry’s life will be scheduled in Philadelphia in the next few weeks.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the ASPCA or the charity of your choice.
