She was born on Saturday, December 23, 1922 in Pokehasset, Alberta, Canada and was the last surviving child of her late mother, Nellie (Floden) Peak, and late father, Albert Peak. She was widowed to Ralph Hamilton, the love of her life, who passed away in March 2010.
Violet moved to the United States from Canada when she was 4 years old. The family moved to Compton, CA which is where she grew up and graduated from Compton High School.
She was a devoted and loving mother and wife. She was very proud of her family and was excited to become a grandmother to her 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Violet loved family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her.
Violet also loved to take the RV out and travel around the country, she always enjoyed getting out and about. While a resident at Brookdale Sunwest Senior Living she was very active, she enjoyed taking the bus to go to church, shopping or community outings. Violet also loved gardening and she had a small section of the Brookdale Garden where she grew zucchini.
Her other interests included cooking, sewing and knitting. Violet was also a very giving person, she made blankets for the newborn intensive care unit (NICU) at her local hospital, and she was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hemet, CA.
She is survived by daughter, Kathleen Feste, son, Mark Hamilton, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, son in law Martin, and daughter in law Patricia, Mark’s wife.
Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Hamilton and son, Thomas Hamilton.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 06, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 191 Columbia Street, Hemet, CA,
Interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery where she will be reunited with her husband, Ralph.
