Sheila M Reid

Sheila Mary Reid (Wheatley) passed away June 26, 2012 after a long battle with lung cancer. She was born February 5, 1937 in Boston Massachusetts to Myles Wheatley and Julia (Nyhan) Wheatley both of Ireland. She was one of seven children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother James Wheatley, sister Ann Timmins, and brother Myles "Tommy" Wheatley. She is survived by her sister Catherine "Tucker" Hoard, brother Robert Wheatley and sister Joan Greer. She married William Reid on March 10, 1955 and had eight children - Stephen Reid, William Reid, Julie-Anne Hesson, Kevin Reid, Shawn Reid, Helen-Marie Rainford, Timothy Reid and Sheila Reid.

While living in Massachusetts, she worked for Howard Johnson's, Boston University Medical Center and Stop & Shop Grocery chain. She and her family moved to Tustin, California in 1979 where she worked for Tustin Community Hospital then moved to Sun City, CA in 1989 where she went to work for Menifee Valley Medical Center until she retired and lived her final years in the community of Sun City Gardens where she was actively involved in community affairs and made many friends.

It was in California that she at long last became a grandmother to William Reid, Kristin Reid, Lisa Reid, Ashley Hesson, Shaunessey (Hesson) Kissen, Andrew Rainford, Kaitlin Rainford, Brianna Jeffries, Chelsea Reid, Kevin Reid, Krystle Reid, Bailey Jeffries and Ryland Reid and great-grandmother to Matthew McWilliams. Her husband Bill preceded her in death on May 24, 2010. She is survived by her remaining brother and sisters, children, grandchildren, great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.
